It’s 272 miles on Route 50 between Missouri’s two major metropolitan centers, St. Louis and Kansas City. While those cities offer sophistication, central Missouri focuses on other values:

Route 50 passes through the state capitol, Jefferson City, and the home of the Missouri State Fair, Sedalia. At one time, Sedalia had a restaurant that featured peanut butter on hamburgers, calling them “Goober burgers.”
